Project Description

Officials at Orange County Public Schools wanted to renovate and expand Lockhart Elementary School while maintaining and preserving some historic features including a red brick building, constructed in 1936 for the original school and now serving as a main reception area. The project scope included demolishing several buildings to provide a courtyard in the center of the campus that includes a new two-story classroom building. A physical education pavilion, kitchen, dining/multi-purpose room, media center, and support areas also were replaced; and existing classroom, administrative, resource lab, and art/music buildings were renovated. New covered walkways also were installed, and other storage and mechanical facilities were added.

VoltAir provided mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services on the project.
