Project Description
A new relief school (Westpointe Elementary School) was created on the current site of MetroWest Elementary School to comply with an Orange County Public Schools rule limiting student capacity to 850 per elementary school. The combined new building and renovations project included a media center, classrooms, kitchen and cafeteria, administrative sections, parking, and the repurposing of existing facility spaces such as existing offices, a kitchen area, and restrooms. (Some buildings were divided between both school campuses on the site.) VoltAir also designed all site lighting for the project.
The project design was phased: Phase I Schematic, Phase II Design Development, and Phase III Construction Documents. VoltAir performed bidding and construction administration (including quality control) services, as well as an 11-month warranty inspection.
VoltAir provided electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services on the project.
