Project Description

The new University of South Florida football athletics complex consists of an 81,000-SF, two-story football operations building to house the team, coaching, training and operational functions of the USF Football Program, along with a new 100,000-SF Indoor Practice Facility (with an environmentally controlled, synthetic-turf practice field), two outdoor full-size practice football fields, and one full-size soccer field. The Indoor Practice Facility is seeking LEED Certification.

The training complex houses a sports medicine area directly connected to the players’ locker room and Indoor Practice Facility, a strength and conditioning center, a 120-player locker room with convenient access to hydrotherapy and taping spaces, and a relaxed environment players’ lounge area consisting of numerous televisions, comfortable seating, and gaming equipment. The facility also includes an equipment room to house all player shoes, clothing, equipment, and an administration area consisting of a first-impression lobby area, administrative offices, and multipurpose spaces.

VoltAir provided electrical engineering and technology design services on the project.
